Bessenberg Bindery was purchased by Thomson-Shore in 2011 with the thought that it tied nicely with the manuscript to reader philosophy that the company promotes.
Bessenberg Bindery has served the academic, medical, legal, publishing, advertising and book collecting communities since 1978.
We are a specialty book bindery that offers a full range of sewn, hardcover book binding, custom boxes, book repair, prototype objects, custom photo albums, portfolios, and desk accessories. We quote jobs as small as one book, or as large as 500.

Frequently Asked Questions
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY PRINTED PAGES BEFORE BRINGING THEM IN?
The most important factor concerning paper for a book is that the grain of the paper runs parallel with the binding edge of the book.
Another important factor to consider is margin size. 1/2″ to 3/4″ is required on the inner margin for sewing and an additional 1/2″ on the outer edges will allow ample room for trimming.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO HAVE MY BOOK BOUND?
All you have to do is bring in your pages, pick a binding style and cover material that suit you, and we will do the rest. If you wish you can send us your pages by mail and we will contact you with options available. Or just send us your PDF files and we can do the printing and binding.
